Social media has positively improved social capital, social support, sense of community, and well-being.
However, it’s still important to have a healthy balance between the use of social media, doing physical activities, and socialising face-to-face.
If you find yourself using your phone or being on the computer longer than a healthy amount, it’s never too late to change your habits.
Start small by setting a time limit to your app usage - learn how to do this by tapping on our stories!
Here are 3 other ways to slow down your use of screen time:
Turn your phone off at certain times of the day (i.e. when you are at the dinner table or playing with the kids)
Leave your device in another room to charge overnight while you are sleeping
Move social and news media apps to the next screen and in a folder on so it’s harder to ‘reach’
